Special Thanks from Atlanta CARES

atlanta cares mentoring program

On behalf of Atlanta CARES, I thank you for volunteering your time and expertise at our Atlanta CARES STEMfest Conference on Saturday. Everyone was impressed with your workshops and the level of student engagement. It was evident that you put a lot of effort into planning your workshop. In essence, you played a pivotal role in the success of our STEMfest, and you were very much appreciated.

Atlanta CARES will host a STEMology Summer Camp  in June and July,  and we will reach out to you again to facilitate a workshop. I hope you will be amenable to our request as we are committed to the continued involvement or our youth in STEM activities.

Please note that January is National Mentoring Month and It is a time set aside to highlight and celebrate  the importance of mentors and their impact on the lives of children. And, it’s also an ideal time for new mentors to join our Atlanta CARES Mentoring Movement where our  motto is, “Mentor a Child and Save a Life.”  If you are interested in continued involvement with Atlanta CARES as a mentor,  I invite you  to attend our next New Mentor Orientation which will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Ivy Preparatory Academy, 1807 Memorial Drive, Atlanta, GA ,from 12:30pm-1:30pm. I encourage you to invite your friends and colleagues to attend the mentor orientation also. The  time commitment as a mentor would only consist of  four hours a month.

Thank you again for taking time from your busy schedule to give back to the community at our STEMfest. Your service touched the lives of many impressionable youth.

Kind regards,

Brenda Coleman | Executive Director Atlanta CARES
